289 Sumach Street was formerly knows as the Ontario Medical College for Women. Located in the southern area of Cabbagetown west of Parliament and just north of Gerard Street East, today it houses 10 medium-sized suites. Purchased in 1983, the facades were restored according to 1898 photographs from a medical calendar discovered behind the original baseboards, and the interiors were transformed into ten multi-storey loft residences, internally maintaining elements of both its historical and industrial precedents.

In 1984, Bob Mitchell completed this condo keeping most of the 1890 facade in tact.

Floor plans and sizes vary from single storey to multiple storey lofts ranging in size from 800 sq. ft. for a one bedroom unit to 2000 sq. ft. for multiple bedroom suites. No concierge service is available but indoor parking accessed through a rear land is a plus. Some of the units have skylights, wooden ceilings, beams, and brick, and many offer private decks or terraces.
